From the Bulova Frank Lloyd Wright collection comes The Oculus Automatic watch by Bulova, model 96A248, which was released in July 2020.

 

In a world that’s increasingly digital, there’s a real appeal to something that relies on gears, springs, and jewels to work, and that’s reflected in the growing interest in mechanical watches today.

 

This is a 3-hand automatic watch, movement caliber 82S0, 21 jewels and hack feature and sweep second hand.

 

Powered by the release of a wound spring, mechanical movements never require a battery. Automatic mechanical movements have an oscillating weight that winds the spring with the motion of the wearer’s arm.

 

This watch, an abstract depiction of Frank Lloyd Wright’s ‘December Gifts’ has a neutral gray patterned dial, silver accents and a heartbeat open aperture (semi-skeleton). 

 

Cased in 39mm round case, all in stainless steel featuring glass exhibition case back, offer a look into the automatic movement. Double domed mineral crystal. Water resistance to 30 meters. Black leather strap with a three-piece buckle closure.
