From the Bulova Archive Series collection, this time, with a unique dial that reinforces its spacefaring history – meaning, no two dials are alike. Bulova proudly introduces the Lunar Pilot Meteorite chronograph wristwatch model 96A312. Continuing to advance the art of watchmaking, this watch was released in January 2024 in a limited edition of only 5,000 numbered pieces worldwide.

 

On August 2, 1971, a Bulova pilot chronograph was worn on the moon, engineered by Bulova for the demands of the lunar environment. The Bulova Lunar Pilot Chronograph was used to back up the on-board timers for the critical reentry into the Earth’s atmosphere.

 

Now, Bulova returns to the design and updates it with an exclusive high precision quartz movement, continuing its legacy of precision timing with the men’s Bulova Lunar Pilot chronograph.

 

The Lunar Pilot is a quartz watch powered by Bulova’s proprietary high precision quartz movement, resonating at a frequency of 262khz accurate to seconds per year and affording a sweeping chronograph hand.

 

The movement HPQ NP20 featuring a 3-pronged quartz crystal with a frequency of 262 kHz is 8 times greater than standard quartz.

 

Features a 43.5mm sandblasted silver-tone grade 5 titanium case with polished accents, creating a dynamic and incredibly lightweight presence on the wrist. Slim chronograph pushers and a crown featuring the Bulova tuning fork logo are perfectly proportioned and ideally positioned at 3 o’clock. Anti-reflecting flat sapphire crystal, impact and shatter resistant.

 

This luxurious timepiece features original design elements and an eye-catching six-hand chronograph dial meticulously crafted from genuine Muonionalusta meteorite. This 4.5-billion-year-old iron meteorite was discovered in Northern Scandinavia in 1906, and its varied crystalline pattern is reflected in the exclusive design that makes every dial one-of-a-kind.

 

A black tachymeter ring offers contrast around the dial, which features a retro Bulova logo. The slim hands and applied markers offer exceptional legibility and are applied with luminescent material for low-light display.  The black recessed, circular grooved sub-dials include a 1/20 chronograph seconds counter at 3 o’clock, running seconds with a sweep hand at 6 o’clock, and 60-minute chronograph counter at 9 o’clock.

 

The watch is paired with a NATO black leather strap which features an easy-release system for quick changes. 3pc wire strap buckle.

 

This edition is limited to 5,000 pieces worldwide and presented in a classic dark wood box with a storybook, limited-edition card, and certificate of authenticity.
